Sydney will become the first city in the world to celebrate Global Wellness Day 2026, as a newly released global wellness travel trends report reveals growing demand for restorative travel experiences focused on emotional wellbeing, joy and reconnection.
The Sydney celebrations will bring many of these emerging wellness travel trends to life through “Well Traveller’s Rituals of Joy”.

To mark Global Wellness Day 2026, the free ticketed gathering will feature a curated program of harbour-inspired rituals including a sunrise Sydney Harbour kayak experience with Sydney Kayaking Tours, gentle movement sessions by Elysia Wellness Retreat, sound bath experiences and a guided meditation led by Megan Larsen, founder of Sodashi.
Australian television personality Barry Du Bois will also share personal reflections on resilience, gratitude and the importance of finding joy through life’s challenges.
Additional free Global Wellness Day 2026 experiences across Sydney will include mindfulness sessions in the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, a ’walk and weave’ First Nations-led experience at North Head Sanctuary in Manly and complimentary sauna and breathwork sessions in Bondi, reflecting the growing popularity of nature immersion, heat rituals and restorative wellness experiences.
Celebrated in more than 170 countries, Global Wellness Day is a not-for-profit global movement encouraging healthier, more connected living. The 2026 global theme, Joy Magenta, symbolises optimism, energy and emotional connection.
