A four-day intensive workshop to build watercolour skills for botanical painting on paper with demonstrations of drawing and painting techniques from initial washes and layering to dry brush detail and finishing, and through individual instruction.

Working on one subject there will be an emphasis on close observation and accurate drawing from life. The many subtle variations in colour achieved through mixing and layering and their use in creating tonal changes to indicate form will be explored along with the importance of light in rendering textures and in creating a three-dimensional painting.

Suitable for intermediate to advanced students, or those with drawing skills and experience in other media.
