Wednesday 15 April from 1:15pm to 4:15pm
In this fun, hands-on workshop you’ll explore how artists and makers design with fabric and thread.
With guidance from your tutor Jacqueline Curry, you’ll learn how to experiment with ideas and discover the creative design and making process used in textile art and quiltmaking.
You’ll try expressive hand-stitching, freehand mark-making, and simple quiltmaking techniques to create your own textile collage. By layering fabrics and stitching them together, you’ll see how quilts can become colourful artworks as well as practical objects.
No experience needed—just curiosity and creativity! If you enjoy drawing, crafting, designing, or working with fabric, this workshop is the perfect place to learn new skills with other creative minded teens and create something you’ll be proud of.
Please ensure to bring a water bottle, snacks, lunch, and a hat. If enrolled for the full day students are provided with a supervised lunch break.
