Tuesday 14 April from 9:30am to 12:30pm
Dive into colour and abstraction in this immersive workshop inspired by Wassily Kandinsky! Begin with hands-on colour theory, exploring the traditional colour wheel, primary, secondary, and tertiary colours, and how to mix and adjust tones like the masters.
Using Kandinsky’s Colour Study: Squares with Concentric Circles (1913) as inspiration, create an abstract mixed-media study experimenting with bold colour combinations. Finish the day with a free-form painting session, exploring shapes, lines, and expressive colour to develop your own abstract style while strengthening your painting skills.
Students will have a morning tea break, and a lunch break if they are booked in for a full day. Breaks are supervised and usually held outside in our beautiful garden (weather permitting).
