Walking to support the elimination of violence against women
Violence against women and girls remains one of the most prevalent and pervasive human rights violations in the world. Globally, almost one in three women have been subjected to physical and/or sexual violence.
On 25 November, the international day for the elimination of violence against women, come and unite on this walk to support the movement of eliminating violence against women and girls. The walk is from Perry Park Recreation Centre to the Older Women's Network in Newtown.
We'll hear from staff at the Older Women's Network on the issue of violence against women and what they do to combat and support victims of violence in the community.
The group will take part in a relaxation and movement session before enjoying morning tea. The return walk is about 4km.
