Ultimo NSW 2007
Australia
University of Technology Sydney (Peter Johnson Building 6, Level 6), Exhibition in Design School Foyer
When

Every day, 10am to 5pm Thursday 8 October to Sunday 25 October

Join us in celebrating a unique cross-cultural exchange between UTS Design students and master artisans from Tharangini Woodblock Studio in Bangalore, India. In this exhibition, archival woodblocks have been reimagined through various techniques, including natural dyes, pigments, and indigo resist patterning. Community is expressed through shared narratives crossing age, language and cultures. These beautiful prints are imbued with meaningful exchanges patterned through nuanced material language.

Fashion translated through Artisan Practice Symposium – Leading fashion designers will discuss how they engage with artisan textile communities that explore various intricate techniques, including couture embroidery and handloom weaving.
