Saturday 20 June from 10:30am to 12pm
Step into the magical, miniature world of moss and explore the fascinating plants that thrive alongside it.
In this hands‑on program, participants learn why mosses are such extraordinary survivors. Discover how ferns flourish in the same cool, damp environments. We’ll uncover the unique features that make these ancient plant groups so special.
Our workshop begins with a guided walk around the Fernery – a display of more than 350 species of ferns, mosses, club mosses and rainforest perennials. Keep an eye out for the diversity of form and function of small plants in the shaded understory.
We will then visit our historic Cryptogram house, where participants will create a scenic moss‑and‑fern landscape to take home, using moss, ferns, carnivorous plants, small rocks and driftwood.
