Introduction to making jewellery with metal (5 weeks)

You’ll be guided through all the processes you need to create a pendant, bangles, brooches, rings or earrings.

You’ll learn exciting new skills, including correct metal selection and how to cut, form, roller print, solder and finish metals. As the course progresses the expert tutor will inspire your creativity by introducing you to the work of several skilled jewellery artists. 

No experience is needed to enjoy this course, which is designed for beginners. If you’re a continuing student or have some jewellery experience, you’ll be supported to develop your skills and work at your own pace on your project with technical assistance and advice on hand from our experienced tutor. 

This course takes place on Wednesday evenings over 5 weeks: 

  • Week 1: 12 August, 6pm to 8:30pm 

  • Week 2: 19 August, 6pm to 8:30pm 

  • Week 3: 26 August, 6pm to 8:30pm 

  • Week 4: 2 September, 6pm to 8:30pm 

  • Week 5: 9 September, 6pm to 8:30pm 

Full instruction is provided on materials, tools, equipment and studio procedures. 

  • Small class size: maximum 8 students 

  • Level: designed for beginner level students 16+yrs

  • Wear: comfortable clothing and enclosed shoes 

  • Bring: yourself – all materials provided
