Ceramics: Introduction to wheel throwing (Wednesday evening)

Discover ceramics in this 5-week course for beginner students. An expert tutor will guide students through various clay production techniques with a focus on process and experimentation.

You’ll hone your wheel throwing skills and will gain an understanding of the basic principles of working with clay.

If you’re a continuing student or have some ceramics experience, you’ll be supported to develop your skills by taking more complex approaches to your work.

This course takes place on Wednesday evenings over 5 weeks.

  • Week 1: Wednesday 26 August from 6pm to 8:30pm

  • Week 2: Wednesday 2 September from 6pm to 8:30pm

  • Week 3: Wednesday 9 September from 6pm to 8:30pm

  • Week 4: Wednesday 16 September from 6pm to 8:30pm

  • Week 5: Wednesday 23 September from 6pm to 8:30pm

Your works will be fired and ready to collect around 4 weeks after the course. We are unable to fire pieces made outside of the course.

  • Small class size: up to 10 students

  • Level: designed for beginner level students

  • Wear: comfortable clothing and enclosed shoes (trousers recommended)

  • Bring: please bring your own apron and towel
