Tuesday 13 May from 5:30pm to 8pm
City Houses Squash Racquets Association (CHSRA) is an association run by a group of volunteers who organise squash games in the Sydney CBD with their major event since 1953 being the Team’s competition. The Team’s competition runs from May to September with players forming teams from many companies, Sporting Clubs or just a group of friends. All standards welcome (we will put your team in the appropriate grade), and teams can be mixed with matches played across the Sydney CBD (Note - we also have a ladies beginner League on Thursday nights that comes with a complimentary Professional Squash Coach).
Matches are played by teams of 4 players playing once a week (unless you have a bye) and commence at 5.30pm and finish at approx. 8pm. Matches are generally Mondays to Thursdays.
In 2024 we had approx. 360 players (57 teams) competing across 8 grades from State / professional players to compete beginners.
Approx. 90% of all matches are in or around the CBD with some matches located at near Bondi Station, Sydney University and Crown St, Surry Hills making the journey to your squash matches usually no more than 10-15m by foot or train / tram.
Companies that participate include - the Commonwealth Bank, Westpac, Macquarie Bank, Caltex, the RBA, KPMG, Telstra and APRA. Sports / Squash Clubs include Bondi Squash Club, Hiscoes Surry Hills, Sydney University, Tattersalls, City Tattersalls and Uni & Schools. However, you are more than welcome to enter as an individual (we will find a team for you) or as a group of friends.
The league also has a social side which includes social events both at the start (Welcome night) and Presentation night at the end of the comp. Both events are subsidised by the organisers.
