Mega maths mania for teens

When

Friday 17 July from 10:30am to 12:30pm

Mega Maths Mania is back, with more to explore.

Join UNSW maths expert Dr Randell Heyman and explore the beautiful side of mathematics using only the basics you already know.

In this hands-on workshop, we’ll look at fascinating maths concepts like impossible shapes, infinity, and patterns in nature. We’ll also explore the maths behind everyday things—how your phone knows where you are, how Google finds answers, how streaming works, and why soap bubbles are round.

No advanced formulas needed. Just bring your curiosity and a willingness to think creatively.

About the facilitator:

Dr. Randell Herman has tutored and lectured at UNSW since 2007. His YouTube channel has over 3.5 million views, and he has delivered more than 100 free talks to schools, students, and adult groups.
