Thursday 28 November from 6pm to 8:30pm
The Dream Collective, an innovative networking and mentoring series created to uplift and empower culturally and racially marginalised (CaRM) women in the arts and entertainment industry.
Founded by acclaimed author, hip-hop journalist, and cultural advocate Simone Amelia Jordan, The Dream Collective provides a supportive environment where CaRM women in creative industries can connect, learn, and share their stories. The monthly event series will feature networking opportunities, mentorship sessions, and artist showcases, all designed to foster inclusion, celebrate diversity, and inspire positive change within the creative sector.
Simone Amelia Jordan, who recently released her memoir Tell Her She's Dreamin', will host the launch event. The evening will include special guest speakers, icebreakers, and an introduction to the collective’s plans to create a platform for underrepresented women in the arts.
"I created The Dream Collective to address the inequities I’ve witnessed and experienced as a culturally diverse woman in the arts," says Jordan. "This initiative is my way of ensuring that CaLD/CaRM women in creative industries have the support and opportunities they deserve."
