Explore 3D design, coding and robotics in the Makerspace.
Ozobots are small programmable robots designed to introduce coding, robotics and problem-solving skills in a fun, hands-on way. We use them a lot here at the Makerspace, so you may already know these little bots! In this workshop, we’re giving our Ozobots a serious glow-up.
Using the free, beginner-friendly CAD program Tinkercad, participants will design a custom Ozobot shell or ‘skin’ to personalise their robot. This program combines 3D design, coding and robotics in a creative problem-solving challenge. Kids will explore how digital designs become physical objects while developing spatial awareness and beginner CAD skills in a fun and supportive environment.
Once the designs are complete, we’ll print them on the Bambu X1 3D printers here in the Makerspace.
While the 3D prints are running, participants will put their Ozobots to the test by designing and building a cool robot maze.
Participants can take home their 3D-printed Ozobot skin after the workshop and continue to play and learn using our Ozobot kits, available for loan at the library.
