When

Tuesdays, 6pm to 8pm Tuesday 14 October to Tuesday 16 December

Expand on your work skills and open doors to new opportunities by learning to speak Japanese with our comprehensive Japanese language short courses online and in Sydney!

Go beyond the basics to build your vocabulary and fluency for a more rewarding level of conversation in Japanese and learn how to communicate with others about your hobbies and activities, likes and dislikes or how to ask for help when needed.

This Intermediate Japanese Language Course is for you if you have prior experience with Japanese and have completed at least 40 hours of previous language learning. This course will build upon your existing knowledge and help you develop a deeper understanding of the Japanese language, focusing on improving your speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.

By the end of the course, you will be able to engage in more complex conversations, read authentic Japanese texts, and express your thoughts and ideas more effectively in Japanese.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

  • talk about leisure and travelling, work and hobbies, habits, likes and dislikes, etc.

  • deal with emergency situations while travelling or at home

  • employ more advanced conversational skills, grammar constructions and patterns

  • have improved reading skills sufficient to understand general ideas and details

  • have improved listening skills appropriate for travel, exchanging ideas with friends and co-workers

  • build composed sentences, using present progressive tense, negative verb forms, making suggestions and plans

  • further your knowledge about the Japanese culture, etiquette and cultural norms

Please note this is a 6–8 week course, not a one-day workshop.
