When

Saturday 22 August from 10am to 12pm

As the days begin to warm up, now is the perfect time to discover bike-friendly connections to some of Sydney's favourite swimming spots, ready for spring and summer.

Join us for a relaxed guided ride linking Prince Alfred Park Pool, the newly reopened North Sydney Olympic Pool and Marrinawi Cove at Barangaroo.

This ride is about more than visiting great destinations. It's about building the confidence to connect them using Sydney's active transport network.

Ride alongside experienced bike educators from Pedal Set Go as we explore practical routes through the CBD, The Rocks and Barangaroo. Along the way we'll answer questions, share practical riding tips and point out useful connections you can use for your own future journeys.

We'll also check out the new Sydney Harbour Bridge cycleway ramp before riding to the newly reopened North Sydney Olympic Pool, then continue to Marrinawi Cove to enjoy the harbour before returning via Cockle Bay, Darling Harbour and the Aquarium.

There won't be a swim on this ride. Instead, you'll discover practical routes to some fantastic places to return to when the weather warms up. Whether you're planning weekend adventures, future harbour swims or simply wondering, "How do I get there by bike?", this guided ride is a relaxed and supportive way to build confidence and explore the city.

Please arrive at 9.45am for a 10.00am departure.

You'll need

  • Your own roadworthy bike and correctly fitted helmet

  • Water bottle and snacks

  • Sunscreen

  • A bike lock if you'd like to stop and explore

  • Weather-appropriate clothing

Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Bookings are essential.

We recommend completing the Cycling in the City course before joining a guided ride. The course develops the practical skills, road positioning, observation and confidence needed to ride comfortably in Sydney, including riding safely in a group.

Guided rides are led by experienced bike educators from Pedal Set Go on behalf of the City of Sydney.
