Flourished French Copperplate Calligraphy Course

Take your copperplate to the next level with graceful flourishes and elegant compositions. This is arguably the fun part about doing calligraphy!

Skill level: Intermediate (A-Z model will not be taught, if you're familiar with a pointed pen/copperplate script you're welcome to join)

Contents:

• Alternate letters (lowercase and capital)

• Double letters combinations

• Calligraphic flowers and knots 

• Analysing/studying old master flourishes

Please note this course does not include "off-hand" style flourishing.

When: 6x Mondays: July 27, August 3, 10, 17, 24, 31

Time: 6:15pm - 7:45pm [1.5 hrs]

This class is limited to 9 attendees.

No materials included. You can buy additional material here. Guidelines and model sheets will be provided. 

To bring:

Ink friendly A4 notebook, oblique pen holder, nib (recommended Nikko/Zebra G nib), walnut or dye-based ink, pencil, eraser.

The venue is not accessible (has a flight of stairs and no lift). The script is not adapted for left handers, but left-handers who have some experience of copperplate are welcome to join. To get the most out of the class, there's optional homework if you'd like to bring in every week for me to correct. Please note these are in-person workshops, there are no catch up lessons if you miss a class, nor are refunds given. Cancellations are not accepted 72 hours before the first week of the course but can be transferred.
