Drawing Anime and Manga for teens: Fantasy and horror

Wednesday 15 July from 11:30am to 1pm

Explore the world of fantasy and horror creature design in this animé and manga drawing workshop led by Matthew Lin.

Participants will experiment with basic shapes, expressive features and animal inspired limbs and bodies to create imaginative creatures ranging from cute to unsettling. The session will begin with character heads before progressing to full bodied monster designs.

This workshop is suitable for beginner and intermediate artists, animé and manga fans, or anyone interested in developing their drawing skills and trying something new.

All materials are provided.

About the facilitator

Matthew Lin is a graphic designer and illustrator with more than 30 years of experience across publishing in Australia and the United States, advertising and toy design, including projects for McDonald’s, Nestlé and Disney.

He regularly delivers drawing workshops covering animé and manga characters, imaginative creatures, typography and cartoon styles, sharing practical techniques and shortcuts in a clear and accessible way.
