You are invited to join us for our next concert, Mujer – Woman, celebrating female composers and poets, and featuring choral works from around the world by and about women. It will take place in St Augustine’s Church, Eaton Street Balmain, at 2.30pm on Sunday 3rd May.
This truly international concert will showcase works by female composers Eva Ugalde (Spain), Modesta Bor (Venezuela), Liliana Cangiano (Argentina), Isolina Carrillo (Cuba), Hildigunnur Rúnarsdóttir (Iceland), Clare Maclean (Australia), and poetic works by Hildegard von Bingen (Germany), Gwen Harwood and Oodgeroo Noonuccal (Australia).
Choral pieces about women include Alleluia! O virga mediatrix (David Basden, Australia), Como pajaros en el aire (Peteco Carabajal, Argentina), La Llorona (Ramón Noble, Mexico), They Dance Alone (Sting, England), To the Mothers in Brazil: Salve Regina (Lars Jansson & Gunnar Eriksson, Sweden) and Virgencita (Arvo Pärt, Estonia).
Tickets can now be booked through Trybooking, and as usual you are invited to join us for wine and refreshments in the adjacent hall after the performance.
