Green Square clothes swap

When

Saturday 13 June from 11am to 12:30pm

Swapping is a clever and thrifty way to update your wardrobe, save money and help fight textile waste.

If you have garments in excellent condition you once loved but are no longer your favourites, join us at Green Square Public School in the Dr Naomi Wing Auditorium for a swap.

This event is only open to residents who live in the City of Sydney council area.

There is a 1 hour check-in period. Depending on when you check in, you could have up to 1 hour of downtime before the swap begins. You might like to grab a coffee or mingle with fellow fashion enthusiasts.

Timing

11am to 11:55am: Clothes check-in time. All clothes must be checked in by 11:55am.

After clothes check-in, the team will sort and set up the swap, so you may need to wait for up to 1 hour.

If you arrive after 11:55am, you'll need to wait until after the clothes swap starts to check in your clothes and enter the swap.

12pm: Clothes swap starts.

What you can bring

Bring up to 5 items of seasonally appropriate clothing in excellent condition for any size, gender and age. Excellent condition means the clothing is clean, pressed and free from rips, holes, stains or major faults. Only bring items you would proudly give to a friend.

  • Tops, shirts, blouses and jackets

  • Pants, jeans and shorts

  • Skirts, dresses and suits

  • Belts, bags and shoes

  • Scarves, ties and hats

All styles and brands are accepted, provided they're in excellent condition. Keep in mind that items will range from on-trend pieces to older classics. Although we love receiving them, we can’t guarantee everyone who brings a designer item will take home an equivalent piece.

What you can't bring

Items are checked before being put out for the clothes swap. If your items are unsuitable, you may be asked to take them home.

  • Jewellery and wigs

  • Underwear, socks and swimwear

  • Sportswear and activewear

  • Anything stained, torn or unclean

  • Noticeably worn out, shabby, pilling or frayed items

Please note, our clothes swap events are popular and generally book out. Even though our selected venues have a large capacity and we cap numbers to fit within the venue, it can feel crowded with many energetic swappers, in the one space.

If it is your first time attending a swap, let us know on the day. Our team will be there to support you and explain how the swap works.
