Enjoy a screening of Beyond Borders Patagonia at Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace with a live Q&A with film creatives, director Jed Fasso, Sam Levings and Bodhi Genis.
Beyond Borders Patagonia is a journey through Chile’s wild frontiers. An exploration of its most remote landscapes, in Chilean culture, undiscovered waves, snow-capped peaks and barren deserts. Rooted in a lifelong pursuit of surfing and filmmaking, the film follows Jed Fasso and a close-knit crew of cinematographers, surfers and snowboarders as they push deep into Patagonia.
With no blueprint and no fixed plan, the expedition is driven by a shared dream: to uncover a new wave along Patagonia’s rugged coastline and a hidden snow-capped mountain deep in the Andes.
Progress is uncertain, conditions are unpredictable, and the outcome is never guaranteed. Along the way, the crew forms connections with like-minded locals and fellow explorers, whose knowledge, generosity and connection to place become an integral part of the journey.
Set against Chile’s vast contrasts, the film reveals that discovery is rarely about the destination alone. Beyond Borders Patagonia explores the idea that surfing, snowboarding and exploration are inherently rooted in culture, tradition and community, and that stepping outside the known can unlock an incredible world of stories, challenges and a deeper understanding of who we are.
