Have you always wanted to try ballet? Whether you're stepping into a studio for the very first time or returning after many years away, our 8 -week beginners Adult Ballet Course offer a welcoming introduction to classical ballet — no previous dance experience required.

In each class, you'll learn the foundations of ballet while developing strength, balance, flexibility, posture, and coordination. Guided step by step by an experienced tutor, you'll practise graceful, controlled movements and begin putting them together with music in a relaxed and supportive environment.

More than just exercise, ballet offers a creative and rewarding way to move. As your confidence grows, you'll develop greater body awareness, control, and musicality while enjoying the satisfaction of learning a skill you may have always wanted to try.

Our classes focus on enjoyment and personal progress, with participants encouraged to work at their own pace. All tutors are Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) certified, bringing technical expertise and a passion for helping adult beginners discover ballet.

Course content

During the course, participants will be guided through key concepts, techniques and approaches that typically include:

  • The five basic ballet positions and foundational ballet terminology

  • Barre exercises to develop strength, alignment, control, and technique

  • Fundamental movements including pliés, tendus, and introductory ballet steps

  • Centre practice to develop balance, posture, and coordination

  • Musicality, rhythm, and moving in time with music

  • Simple ballet combinations and introductory choreography

  • Developing body awareness, fluidity, and expression through movement

Intended audience

These classes are suitable for adults with little or no previous ballet experience. They are ideal for complete beginners, those returning to ballet after time away, and anyone looking for a creative and enjoyable way to improve strength, balance, flexibility, and coordination.

No prior dance experience is required, and participants are encouraged to progress at their own pace in a supportive environment.
