Join us for an evening with acclaimed poet Philip Radmall as part of Words on Art and Life, our monthly conversation series celebrating creativity, storytelling and artistic practice.
Philip Radmall's poetry has been published widely in leading literary journals and anthologies in Australia and internationally, including Overland, The Australian Poetry Anthology, Spiritus (Johns Hopkins University Press). His work also appeared in the landmark 1991 UK anthology Grandchildren of Albion. Philip has received multiple accolades, including third‑place prizes and a commendation in the Newcastle Poetry Prize, and was shortlisted for the 2025 Bridport International Poetry Prize and the 2025 ACU Prize for Poetry. His first collection of poetry, Earthwork, was published in 2017, and a second, thresholds, in 2022. Born in England, Philip emigrated to Australia in 1991 and is currently a senior teacher of English language at Macquarie University in Sydney.
In conversation with host Danny Gardner, Philip will reflect on his creative process, influences and life in poetry. The discussion will be followed by a Q&A session, offering audiences the opportunity to engage more deeply with Philip’s work and creative journey.
