The charming streets of Woollahra are set to come alive with fashion, flair, and festivities at the Woollahra Fashion and Lifestyle Day, taking place on Thursday 16th October. Set against the backdrop of the iconic Queen Street, one of Sydney’s most elegant retail and lifestyle destinations, the day promises a vibrant celebration of local style and community spirit.
Throughout the day boutiques along and around Queen Street will be holding free in-store events, including bubbles and Fashion Day Specials, while Cassy and the Bossa Beats and friendly accordion player, Philipe Wittwer, will bring a relaxed vibe to the streets. Plan to spend the day shopping in Queen Street, stopping for a break in cafés, bookshops, art galleries and more.
A designer fashion show at the Woollahra Hotel starts at 12 noon with doors opening at 11.00am. You’ll see collections from designers such as Moss & Spy, Anna Thomas and MJ Bale; beautiful selected international designers from stores such as Aquel, Riada Concept, Reads Woollahra and Cable Melbourne;jewellery from Matthew Ely and accessories by TANORA and Axel Mano. There’s even a selection of the latest children’s fashion from The Monogram Mode. The show is under the direction of Grant Pearce, Editor in Chief Esquire and curated by David Heimann of Orson and Blake Consultancy.
The fashion parade will be followed by an exclusive lunch at Bistro Moncur, with guest speaker Maureen Jordan publisher of Harper’s Bazaar Australia and Esquire in conversation with well-known journalist and interviewer Nicole Abadee.
Following the success of the Woollahra Writer’s talks at the March Woollahra Festival there are two talks in the afternoon: Anne Schofield in conversation about her life with jewellery – held at her jewellery store in the historic building The Bond, 36 Queen Street at 2.30pm; and Tim Olsen in conversation with Peter Switzer – “When finance and art collide” at the Olsen Gallery, 63 Jersey Road at 7.00pm.
