SPEAKINGTRUTH'S Print Reclaim 4 NAIDOC

When

Saturday 4 July from 11am to 3pm

Season is excited to be collaborating with Speaking Truth to bring you Speaking Truth’s Print Reclaim 4 NAIDOC!

Together we'll be taking over Joynton Avenue Creative Centre and inviting everyone to participate in creative yarns about NAIDOC, how to engage the theme ‘50 years of Deadly’ across cultures and start truth-telling in our communities.

SPEAKINGTRUTH is a First Nations-led multilingual project, working to make truth-telling accessible with multilingual and multicultural communities in mind.

We welcome all ages and anyone eager to learn and start conversations.

Come to Zetland to:

  • Engage n our zine maker station, including offerings of multilingual zines and posters by SPEAKINGTRUTH in 9 languages

  • Bring your own clothes to up-cycle by printing ‘We all live on Aboriginal land’ in 7 languages (Arabic, Italian, Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Tagalog and Spanish) at our screen-printing station

  • Listen to talks about NAIDOC week's origin and meaning, why we should creatively engage our communities in truth-telling and participate in a community roundtable to shape the future of the SPEAKINGTRUTH project.

  • Stay for a drink from the Cafe WAYWAY pop-up, where iced long blacks/matcha/iced chocolate and herbal teas will be available for purchase, featuring native ingredients from Indigiearth – a 100% Aboriginal owned native foods business.
