Utopia Art Sydney is open to the public Tuesdays - Saturdays 10am - 5pm

Join John West Tjupurrula (WA) in the gallery for the opening celebration of his premiere solo exhibition in Sydney.

Hailing from Kiwirrkurra in the Gibson Desert, Western Australia, John West paints his Country as he experiences it around Palipalintja and Jupiter Well. Working in his community as a two way science teacher as well as a Kiwirrkurra Ranger, John West said he ‘chose colours that reminded me of the landscape at that place.’

Presented in association with Papunya Tula Artists. John West has been exhibited in major exhibitions like the Wynne Prize at the Art Gallery of New South Wales and is currently hanging in the 'Salon des Refusés' at the S H Ervin Gallery in Sydney. John has exhibited in Sydney, Melbourne, New York and London.

John West Tjupurrula's solo exhibition opens Saturday 27th June and John will be in the gallery between 3pm - 5pm.

The exhibition continues until the 18th July. The gallery is open to the public Tuesdays - Saturdays 10am - 5pm. All are welcome
