Building on the skills developed in Silver Jewellery: Wax Modelling Silver Casting Intermediate course, this advanced class offers the opportunity to refine wax carving techniques and explore more complex designs. Wax modelling remains an excellent method for crafting intricate silver jewellery, and this course will guide students in pushing the boundaries of creativity and technical ability.
Students will work on more intricate and sculptural designs for rings, pendants, or other jewellery pieces while experimenting with advanced carving, texturing, and detailing techniques. The course will also introduce methods for creating multiple components or settings for stones, offering a deeper understanding of the casting process and how to optimise designs for silver casting. Once the pieces have been cast, students will refine their finishing techniques to achieve a professional standard in polishing and detailing.
This course is designed for those who have completed the beginner's course or have prior experience with jewellery-making. It is ideal for those looking to refine their craftsmanship, work on more ambitious projects. All tools and materials are included, except for the sterling silver casting fee, which will vary depending on the size and weight of each piece. The tutor will provide guidance on estimated costs based on individual designs.
