Join the Joubert Singers and guests as we present this deeply moving program on Sunday 17 May at 3:30pm. Two masterpieces offering contrasting yet complementary reflections on mortality.
Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem offers a vision of serenity and consolation. With its flowing melodies and luminous harmonies, it emphasises peace and rest. In contrast, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Requiem in D minor is charged with drama, intensity and vivid contrasts capturing both the fear and awe of the unknown.
