An exhibition of Japanese calligraphy by RENCLUB members.
Local artist group RENCLUB presents an exhibition of Japanese calligraphy. RENCLUB Members' Exhibition 2026 offers many styles of writing, from traditional to modern. Japanese calligraphy, or 'Sho' in Japanese, attempts to bring words to life and endow them with character. The exhibition features ink calligraphy on paper and silk scrolls.
About the artists
RENCLUB is a Chatswood-based calligraphy group led by REN YANO, and will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2026. Its members are Japanese as well as people from several other countries who love Japanese culture. Members learn calligraphy techniques and cultural background through weekly practice, and they introduce Japanese calligraphy to others by holding workshops and calligraphy demonstrations at various events.
