Brooch Club brings together contemporary jewellers from across Sydney in a group exhibition that celebrates the brooch in all its forms — conceptual, functional, sculptural, and symbolic. Through a shared studio-based social club established by Squarepeg Studios, Windowsmiths Gallery, The Metal Space, Hazelhurst Art Centre and Silver Plus Inc, the concepts of material intelligence, the wearability and the potentiality of this small but mighty object have been explored. Inherent in the practice of contemporary jewellers is an understanding of a multitude of materials used to create their art.

The culmination of this series of explorations, discussions and workshops will be Material Matters: A Brooch Club Exhibition, to be held at Windowsmiths Gallery during Sydney Craft Week. This show reflects the diverse practices and perspectives of each maker and is a celebration of personal expression, craftsmanship, and collective creativity.

Exhibition Friday 10 - Sunday 19 October, open daily, 12pm – 6pm; Opening Friday 10 October, 6 - 8pm; Pin Swap Saturday 18 October 6 - 8pm, see website for event details.
