This one-day workshop is all about creating unique, handmade Christmas presents through printmaking. You’ll explore playful techniques, experiment with colour and texture, and leave with a collection of one-of-a-kind prints ready to be gifted. No printmaking experience is needed. Each technique will be demonstrated step by step, and you’ll be supported with handouts and guidance throughout the day.
You’ll experiment with a range of accessible techniques including
Monotype + Origami monoprint + etching + image transfer + collage, hand colouring.
Throughout the day you’ll make multiple prints in a gift-friendly format. Perfect for framing, turning into cards, or sharing with loved ones.
This will be day of texture, colour and fun, leave with a stack of prints - from studio to stocking in one day!
Morning tea and all materials are provided, so all you will need to bring are:
A sketch book, pencil or something to write and draw with
An apron (and/or wear clothes you don’t mind getting inky)
Your lunch (however there are plenty of great cafes and a supermarket nearby)
Your questions, eagerness and festive spirit
Optional: your favourite printmaking paper.
Katika Schultz holds a BFA in Printmaking from the National Art School and has been teaching for the past three years. She regularly exhibits across Sydney, including at Tiliqua Tiliqua, and has been a recipient of many art residencies and a finalist in major Australian art prizes. Passionate about accessibility, education, and experimentation, she encourages artists to embrace play, discovery, and the unique qualities of printmaking.
