Hollywood Quarter Neon Trail for Vivid Sydney

The Hollywood Quarter precinct in Surry Hills will be bathed in a neon glow during Vivid Sydney this year, as the ‘HQ NeonTrail’ lights up from 23 May till 14 June 2025.

The curated walk invites art and music lovers to muse on the Vivid Sydney theme of 'dream' via movies that have informed our collective past and touched on the concept of dreaming. Ten venues present their own interpretation, via movies, which has been transformed into neon for visitors to explore. 

In addition to the Neon Trail, the renowned venues around Hollywood Quarter will be offering food and drink deals for every taste and every budget. With some of the best restaurants and bars in town, the choice is irresistible!

As well, there will also be live music gigs, dj’s, performances, workshops and special cinema screenings from Wednesday to Sunday, each week.

Two outdoor events 'A Taster of HQ' and 'Foy Lane Lights Up' invites art and food lovers to celebrate under the stars.

NEON LYRIC TRAIL VENUES

Explore the Neon Trail, read the inspiration for our interpretation of ‘dream' and listen to the music, as you go, via a Hollywood Quarter Spotify playlist. Visit Butter, Big Trouble, Chin Chin, Gilda’s, Golden Age, Harry’s, Hollywood Hotel, Piermarq*, Poly, Tio’s.

With venues offering unique music and dining experiences, participants can explore the precinct, dine, drink and be entertained as they view the Neon Trail. Music and Art events are free, and the food offerings vary in price (starting from less than $10 for a beer and snacks to a degustation menu).
