July School Holidays - Glaze Galleria Kids Pottery Class

Give your child a relaxing, focus-building experience making ceramics they'll actually use for years to come.

If you're over 7 years of age, come along to our hand-building pottery class in our ceramic studio nestled in Sydney Inner West's Drummoyne. Make your own treasures including bowls, cups or ornaments that you can actually use, not just keep on a shelf. Adults are welcome to book their own spot too and create great memories alongside their child.

What you'll do

• Demonstration. Our experienced ceramics instructor kicks things off by showing the techniques you'll need for hand-building pottery, so everyone feels confident getting started.

• Sit back and watch (or join in). Settle in and watch your child get hands-on with clay, or book your own spot and create alongside them for a shared experience.

• Help at hand. With a maximum of 8 students per class, each participant will get plenty of one-on-one guidance from our instructor throughout the session.

The results

Each participant can make as many pieces as they like during the class, then choose their favourite pieces to keep, with the class covering two pieces. Choose to decorate your pieces with coloured underglazes or have them dipped in your choice from our studio glazes.

We finish the pottery for you

Once pieces are completely dry, they're high-fired to create functional pottery that's food, microwave and dishwasher safe, ready to collect in about 4 weeks. Want to keep more than 2 pieces? Extra pieces can be finished for just $10 each.

• A 2-hour hand-building session in our Drummoyne studio

• Up to 2 kilos of stoneware clay

• Use of studio pottery tools

• Guidance from an expert instructor

• 2 finished, food-safe ceramic pieces, decorated and high-fired (ready in about 4 weeks)

• Option to finish extra pieces for $10 each

Knowledge required

None at all. This class is a relaxing, fun introduction to pottery for newcomers of all ages.
