Celebrate Diwali and the Moon Festival with a cross-cultural cooking demonstration and storytelling session featuring Gayathiri Manoharan and Jackie Yu.
This event brings communities together to explore the meaning of these festivals through food, personal reflection and shared conversation. Gayathiri and Jackie will present simple sweet and savoury dishes inspired by their cultural traditions, alongside a discussion about the role of food in festive celebration. They’ll also share cultural treats with you.
Gayathiri Manoharan is a cook, event producer and stylist with a deep love for bringing people together through communal cooking. She celebrates Sri Lankan and south-east Asian flavours through creative and inclusive food experiences. Gayathiri is the founder of Table at Gayas, producing community feasts.
Jackie Yu is a cook and baker whose desserts balance whimsy and elegance. Her creations are sculptural, textural and strikingly otherworldly. Jackie is the creator of bb.flambe, where she explores imaginative approaches to baking and sweets.
