Fridays, 10am to 1pm Friday 5 June to Friday 3 July
In this structured 5 week class with multi-disciplinary artist Jane Alexander, students are guided through the composition and execution of expressive landscapes. Students are encouraged to work with their preferred medium; painting, drawing or assemblage. With Jane’s assistance, students can develop their skills using color, tone and mark-making to abstract their work.
This class suits students who have some previous experience with artistic mediums who are looking to explore the subject matter of landscapes. If you are a complete beginner please get in touch with us before booking.
The structure of the class will be:
Weeks 1-2: Composition and form (students to bring images of a landscape for inspiration); look at cropping; using tracing paper to show form and compile thumb nail compositions.
Weeks 3-4: Tone and light - converting images using black and white, colour mixing from palette to complete small tonal studies.
Week 5: Painting/Developing your work.
