Creative Impact webinar: Accessibility

A free series of expert-led discussions providing artists, creative practitioners and arts workers with practical guidance on meeting good practice standards.

Join this session to learn how to foster accessibility in the arts, ensuring inclusive, meaningful engagement for everyone.

Led by Liz Martin, CEO Accessible Arts, the session explores: 

• venue, operations and budgeting for accessibility

• marketing processes

• artist and event programming

• collaborative and co-design approaches in programming.

You’ll also hear from Justine Shih-Pearson, executive director of PACT Centre for Emerging Artists, about how they have put accessibility principles into practice. PACT has co-produced an intersectionally-accessible event, Crip Rave Theory, for the past 3 years.

A resource sheet for planning accessible events developed in partnership with Accessible Arts is provided for participants.

Speakers

Liz Martin is a leading expert in disability access and inclusion, an award-winning musician and a passionate advocate for authentically representative, diverse and accessible arts and cultural sectors. As CEO of Accessible Arts NSW, Liz also serves on the Create NSW Community and Cultural Development Board and the Sydney Festival Access Committee. She has previously held leadership roles, including deputy chair of Arts Access Australia and member of Create NSW’s Contemporary Music Board.

Justine Shih Pearson has collaborated on projects for live performance, digital media, film/tv, online publishing, public spaces, hospitals and museums in Australia and overseas for more than 20 years. Based in Sydney/Warrang since 2007, Justine combines an ongoing creative practice with scholarship and advocacy in the areas of artist and art form development. She has been executive director/CEO of PACT since 2021 and currently on the board of artist-run space ReadyMade Works.
