4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art and INJURY X REAL PARENT invite you to share your stories, memories and reflections of Haymarket at the newly re-opened 4A LAB.
Haymarket 2050 is a new digital art project that explores Chinatown’s living memories, imagined futures and the presence of Hong Kong culture across generations.
We are especially keen to hear from anyone with a personal connection to Haymarket and its transformation over the years. This may include memories of congee and comics, lining up for Emperor’s Puffs, or watching Cantonese films in the old Hong Kong cinemas. We also welcome stories of long-closed icons such as Ching Yip Coffee Lounge, Po Hong Books & Stationery Co., and Yi Fung, where many once pre-ordered publications from Hong Kong.
The stories and materials you share will contribute to the project’s final activation at 4A LAB and on 4A+. They may also be incorporated into an interactive AR experience and the gallery installation planned for 2026.
Feel free to walk in, or email louis.lu@4a.com.au to arrange a time.
All ages are welcome, with Cantonese and English support available.
