Join us for a special fundraising matcha workshop in collaboration with Simply Native. Discover the fundamentals of matcha, deepen your appreciation of this traditional tea, and learn how to whisk your own perfect bowl. Enjoy your tea mindfully, swap with friends and family, or savour your own creation.

What you’ll experience

  • Choose your matcha from a curated selection of Uji matcha by Simply Native

  • Step-by-step guidance on whisking a perfect bowl of matcha at home

  • Paired with freshly made Kurimochi (chestnut mochi), perfect for the autumn season

Kurimochi (Chestnut Mochi)

Freshly made seasonal sweet served alongside your matcha. Featuring a soft gyuhi mochi skin with a gently fragrant adzuki bean paste filling and a soft, nutty chestnut centre. A delicate autumn-inspired treat with a comforting, subtle sweetness.

Wagashi Tasting Experience (+$15)

Enjoy two freshly handcrafted seasonal wagashi:

  1. Sakura Mochi – freshly pounded mochi rice filled with smooth adzuki bean paste, wrapped in a lightly salted sakura leaf. A delicate balance of sweetness and gentle salinity, with the subtle aroma of cherry blossom.

  2. Chrysanthemum Nerikiri – a traditional soft white bean confection originated from Kyoto specifically to pair with matcha. Shaped to reflect the chrysanthemum season, paired with a smooth adzuki bean centre. Light, refined, and delicately balanced in flavour.

Any uneaten sweets may be taken home. (Valued at $25)
