Saturday 14 June from 10am to 1pm Saturday 4 October from 10am to 1pm
Learn the age-old technique of coil weaving to make a small basket using fabric scraps or old clothing and linens, rope, and yarn. You will learn the skills to make a small, hand-stitched coiled basket which is both useful and decorative and a great way to reuse fabric scraps and/or pre-loved clothing.
Coiling is meditative and calming, and the workshop will lead you step by step through how to choose and prepare your materials, how to build the sides, and finishing off. At the end of the workshop, you will have made a sustainable and original handmade basket which you can keep or gift to a friend. No previous experience required, suitable for 12 years of age and up through to adults.
