The Australian Human Rights Awards honour human rights heroes. Join us on Awards night on Friday 12 December to celebrate the individuals and organisations making an impact on human rights across Australia.
This year’s event will feature renowned journalist and broadcaster Karla Grant as MC, and an inspiring keynote address from Juliana Nkrumah AM, a leading advocate for social justice and equality.
We will showcase the work of the 20 finalists and announce the recipients of the:
Human Rights Medal
Law Award
Community Award
Young People’s Award
Media and Creative Industries Award.
The 2025 Australian Human Rights Awards finalists have been recognised for their work to advance justice and equality across the country. From youth support workers and filmmakers to legal reformers and medical professionals, this year’s 20 finalists were selected from nearly 300 nominations across 5 categories.
The Awards night brings together people from across the human rights, legal, government and community sectors.
Enjoy a pre-ceremony reception with canapes and beverages, and music by DJ Annabelle Gaspar.
Awards night promises to be an unforgettable evening of recognition, inspiration and connection with leaders, advocates and changemakers who are shaping a fairer, more inclusive Australia.
