Workshops delivered at Sydney Community College and Monster Mouse Studios
Mindful Art Kintsugi workshops will guide you to a sustainable way of life. Kintsugi is a century-old Japanese craft where broken ceramic objects are pieced back together using lacquer and gold dust based on the philosophy of Zen - finding beauty in imperfection.
Art Kintsugi will host introductory workshops during Sydney Craft Week in their Marrickville art studio and the Sydney Community College in Rozelle.
In the 4 hour introductory workshop participants will learn the fundamentals of the Kintsugi method, step by step, using accessible tools and materials. The workshop will include a discussion about the history of Kintsugi and a Q&A. Upon completion, participants will take home their original piece of Kintsugi art and the knowledge to start repair projects at home.
All tools, materials and items to be repaired are included. No experience or skills required. For ages 18 and over and not recommended during pregnancy.
Workshops at Sydney Community College Saturday 11 October 10am - 2pm, Thursday 16 October, 5pm – 9pm; Workshops at Monster Mouse Studios Sunday 12 October 10am - 2pm, Saturday 18 October, 10am - 2pm.
