Explore the distinctive style of chibi characters in this hands on drawing workshop for teens.
Led by illustrator and graphic designer Matthew Lin, the session will cover character proportions, facial features, hands and feet, and how chibi characters differ from standard animé and manga designs. Participants will practise drawing full characters from head to toe with step by step guidance.
This workshop is suitable for beginner and intermediate artists, animé and manga fans, or anyone looking to develop their drawing skills. All materials are provided. Bookings are essential as places are limited.
About the facilitator:
Matthew Lin is a graphic designer and illustrator with more than 30 years of experience across publishing in Australia and the United States, advertising and toy design, including projects for McDonald’s, Nestlé and Disney.
He regularly delivers drawing workshops covering animé and manga characters, imaginative creatures, typography and cartoon styles, sharing practical techniques and shortcuts in a clear and accessible way.
