Come and enjoy a two hour walk in Ultimo with Michael, AAA's volunteer tour guide and learn about the area's colourful history and architecture.
On the walking tour you will see and hear about a building that has been described as the most beautiful squashed paper bag by architect Frank Gehry. Adding to the tour is a beautifully designed college built in Romanesque Revival Style which features carvings of Australian animals and flowers in the facade.
You will also discover how a suburb becomes known as Ultimo and hear about and see the work of two highly influential 19th century architects and two 20th century women, one of whom is commemorated in the name of a suburb in Canberra!
Visit the 6 Green Star rated sustainability building which has a ''Doppler Effect'' facade and one of the first of its' kind in Australia.
So much to see and hear about, finishing along the Goods Line which was transformed from a disused freight railway line into a thoughtfully designed park and green space.
