‘A Taste of HQ: Street Eats Edition’ at Vivid Sydney 2026
As part of Vivid Sydney 2026, Hollywood Quarter will transform Foster and Hunt Streets into a vibrant open-air dining and cultural precinct with A Taste of HQ: Street Eats Edition, a one-night street party celebrating Sydney’s leading chefs, live performance and community.
Taking place on Saturday 30 May from 4pm–11pm, the event forms the centrepiece of the precinct’s broader HQ Live! program, turning the streets into a high-energy, food-led experience as the city comes alive after dark.
From 4pm, the precinct shifts into a pedestrian-only zone, opening with a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere of music, workshops and street activation, before building into a full-scale evening street party.
At the heart of the event is A Taste of HQ: Street Eats Edition, where eight of Sydney’s leading chefs step out of their kitchens and onto the street, each reimagining an iconic handheld dish, from burgers and lobster rolls to hot dogs and fries, delivered with refined technique, bold flavour and a distinctly local perspective.
With food from Nomad, Gildas, Nel, Kiln, Firedoor, Butter Sydney, Chin Chin and Brooklyn Boy Bagels. And a chef line-up that includes Lennox Hastie, Nelly Robinson, Remy Davis, Matthew MacLeod and Julian Cincotta you know this is going to be a delicious one-off opportunity!
It’s high-level cooking without the formality: fast, fun and designed for the street. No bookings, no fixed seating, just a shared, roaming dining experience shaped by music, light and movement.
Cost of entry free. Food items from $8 - $28
All food and drink items will be available from our pop-up in a dedicated open-air dining area on Foster Street. Live music and roving performers activate the entire strip for evening entertainment. A celebration of the creativity and cuisine of Surry Hills’ iconic Hollywood Quarter.
