Yvonne is a professional artist of more than 30 years standing, with many solo and group exhibitions to her name. Yvonne has a fine arts degree majoring in painting and sculpture. She works in oils on linen and creates sculptural pottery. JK Gallery in Thredbo has represented Yvonne’s snow country paintings for many years. Her work is sought after all over the world.

In this body of work, she develops the idea that we are all explorers in our own lives and that we are unique. She has been fascinated by coverings and the process of uncovering. What lies behind the person, the thing, the story, the memory. Unfinished memories of love, hope, dreams, despair and of renewal. The strings entwined in our minds, which tie us to family and place, purpose, burden, succour. The enigmatic boat, beached or moored, an hiatus in a journey, adrift, aground, laden with hopes and dreams. Memories like the finest gossamer, of imagined realities long past.

She explores these fleeting remembered images, unfolding evanescence and ethereal from the subconscious through contemporary paintings.
