Join us at our vibrant and welcoming creative studio in Redfern for our highly popular Sewing For Beginners workshop. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some basic sewing knowledge, this workshop will equip you with the essential skills to start your sewing journey with confidence.
In this hands-on workshop, we provide all the materials needed to create your own cushion cover. You'll have the opportunity to choose your favourite fabric from our selection. Our experienced teacher will guide you through the pattern, cutting process, and machine setup, ensuring you grasp the fundamentals of sewing.
Everything is included in this class, from machine hire to fabric and thread.
In the session, you can expect to learn:
How to pre-treat your fabric with the iron
Understand a simple sewing pattern
How to mark and cut your fabric
Wind the bobbin and thread the machine
How to sew straight
Hemming
Overlock using a domestic machine
By the end of the workshop, you'll have a completed cushion cover that you can proudly display in your home. This workshop is designed to give you a solid foundation in sewing and leave you feeling empowered to take on more sewing projects in the future.
