School holidays: Papercraft automata

Would you like to make a piece of art that moves? Join us for this fun and engaging STEM activity where you'll build your very own automata – a mechanical paper sculpture that comes to life through movement!.

In this beginner-friendly workshop, you'll discover how simple mechanisms can create motion. Using paper and a variety of craft materials, you'll make an automaton with moving parts that spin, pop up, disappear and move around.

Library staff will be on hand to guide you through the process and provide all the materials, tools and know-how you need to create your masterpiece.

·      This activity is suitable for persons aged 8-12 years.

·      Parents or guardians must sign in for attendees and stay to participate for the duration of the activity.

·      Places are limited. Bookings are essential.
