These spring school holidays explore Sydney’s fascinating history through fun and unique museum experiences.
Weaving the Colours of Country with Sancia Ridgeway
Using nature and photographs as inspiration, join in drop-in weaving workshops led by Gumbaynggirr textile artist Sancia Ridgeway. Their woven pieces that reflect the colours of Country will contribute to a communal display within the museum. All materials provided, for ages 8+.

Spinning Threads of Knowledge
Join Gumbaynggirr textile artist Sancia Ridgeway for a family-friendly workshop where you’ll learn how to spin yarn using simple techniques. Learn traditional techniques while discovering how First Nations peoples use yarn for fishing, storytelling, and creating pathways of knowledge known as songlines. All materials provided, for ages 8+.

Hyde Park Barracks Family Fun Day
Journey through history at Sydney’s iconic Hyde Park Barracks. Start your adventure with our engaging kids’ trail and immersive audio tour that bring the stories of the Barracks to life. Then dive into hands-on activities that make history tangible and exciting.

Susannah Place Street Party
Join MHNSW for a vibrant street party to celebrate the completion of a once-in-a-generation conservation project at Susannah Place, located in the heart of The Rocks. Hyde Park Barracks Kids’ Trail
Adventure through time at the Hyde Park Barracks with a tailored audio guide and activity trail for kids. Hear the fascinating story of the Barracks as told by some of the convicts and immigrants who lived there, plus listen for clues and complete fun activities. For ages 5-12.

Justice & Police Museum Kids’ Trail
Explore the Justice & Police Museum to uncover stories from Sydney’s original Water Police station and courts, located at Circular Quay. Complete fun activities to earn your police badge! For ages 5-12.
