An epic story of love, migration and identity unfolding across continents and decades.
1970s Lebanon. Pierre falls in love with Samir in the humble village of Damour, south of Beirut. When civil war breaks, Pierre is forced to leave Samir behind and escape into an arranged marriage, migrating to Australia and becoming someone new. But can you really leave the past behind?
Haunted by his memories of Samir, Pierre attempts to forge multiple new lives for himself. From a tomato farm in rural Queensland to the streets of Darlinghurst, he tries to outrun his past - until something forces him to stop running.
Saints of Damour is a special new work from playwright James Elazzi that honours voices lost to history and reminds us of the privilege of living truthfully.
Presented with the support of Qtopia Sydney.
On Thursday 27th March, a Q&A with the creative team will be held after the performance for all ticketholders.
