Rituals: A tribute to ancient traditions

Rituals is not just a concert – it’s a shared cultural experience. Inspired by the sacred traditions of ancient communities, this event reimagines ritual for our time through sound, movement, and storytelling.

The music serves as a bridge between worlds, creating a space where people of all backgrounds can come together in celebration, reflection, and connection. It’s a journey that invites the audience to dance, listen, and feel deeply rooted in something timeless and collective.

Three powerful live acts, each bringing a distinct fusion of electronic music, traditional rhythms and storytelling performance.

• La Gati is the solo project put together by Sydney musician Patricia Alvarez. A regular player on the Sydney gig circuit of renowned musicians. Now gathering and cultivating all the teachings of her mentors and channeling them through her alter ego La Gati. A mashup set of Reggaeton, Reggae, Afrobeat, Soul and Denbow, Infused with the intention to heat up the dance floor. 

• Oroana (she/her) is a Colombian-born, Australia-based artivist and DJ. Living on Darkinjung Country, she blends ceremonial soundscapes with deep electronic grooves, creating immersive sets that channel Indigenous resistance, spiritual connection, and dance-floor release. 

• Kaimán Jiménez MC Kaimán Jiménez is a Barranquillero artist and cultural ambassador of Colombian Caribbean music in Australia. A multi-award-winning producer and frontman of Watussi and AMARU TRIBE, he has performed alongside Manu Chao, Seun Kuti, and Earth, Wind & Fire. His explosive DJ/MC sets, most recently featured at WOMADelaide, Rising Festival, and Sydney Biennale, combine Afro-Caribbean rhythms, carnival energy, and improvisational vocals. 

• GabzaK is a Chilean-born, Sydney-based saxophonist, producer, and DJ. His performances merge deep electronic bass with Latin American ritual music and live saxophone, creating an audiovisual experience that bridges club culture with ceremony. Winner of the 2024 Imagineer Award for his music video Nocturna, GabzaK is now touring a new immersive live set in support of his upcoming album.
