Educators are invited to a guided tour of the exhibition Paper Universe: The book as art, which showcases almost 100 rarely seen works from the State Library’s remarkable collection of artists’ books. Ranging in size from just 5cm to an astonishing 40m, and made with a range of materials and techniques, these works reveal intimate and powerful stories beyond the written word.

The exhibition has links to primary and secondary syllabuses for Visual Arts, English and HSIE. More information about the exhibition, including the object list, can be found here

Meet at 4.40pm outside Paper Universe: The book as art exhibition space, Level 1, Mitchell Building, State Library of NSW. The tour will commence at 4.45pm.

Maria Savvidis is a Specialist Librarian in Collection Acquisition & Curation and President of Oral History NSW. She specialises in artists’ books, archives and oral history, with a strong focus on contemporary collecting. Maria is passionate about making galleries, libraries, archives and museums (GLAM) more inclusive, diverse and accessible through an intersectional approach.'
